What is Flawless League and how did you become connected with it?
-Flawless League is a group, trying to work it into a label. The way I got affiliated with flawless is last year I was in Chicago just making music like I've been doing, my friend Ulieses had messaged me on Facebook one night and was like "what do you think about starting a music group" I was just like "bro I'm down" honestly in the back of my mind I was thinking ok another group music type of thing... How long is this going to last? Because I've tried that group thing and it just never worked out in the past but luckily we got a strong group and unfortunately people got cut from the group for not supporting others and just doing their own thing, So best of luck to to those who had to be dropped, but you got to know this is like a family.
How has the city of Chicago influenced your music?
-Honestly it doesn't influence me like that at all, I mean you can say from a perspective I respect the people that's not about all that gang banging, you feel me? But I don't get no type of inspiration from Chicago, but I do support some of the local artists out there that be doing their own thing. Shout out to everybody doing their thing there, there's a handful that I can name, that's why I just said a handful.
Why did you make the move from Chicago to Florida?
-Man I had to get out, It was literally nothing striking my liking no more out there, I mean I love the place it's just like anywhere once you live there for a long time, you get tired of the same old thing..
What did you hope to achieve by releasing After Hours?
-Truly with after hours I really wanted to paint listeners a picture of how I feel on some late night type shit, you know? I really wanted to strike a lot of different styles and show people like, look I am an artist I'm trying to illustrate something to you... Plain and simple. It's just something I felt people relate to on those late nights..
What usually keeps you up at night?
-Bruh Netflix, I'm a tell you I'm a anime head. Like, I love watching all that shit. Once I finish one I start a new series which keeps me up at night all the time. Or, I watch a lot of interviews or I listen to podcasts from some of my favorite artist, which I don't have many at the moment, but yeah stay up all night think about what's the next mixtape project or next video I can try to make, and how am I going to make it look. No lie After Hours had me working on it late, like I'm talking 3-4 o'clock in the morning. So music in general is a factor.
How do you hope your lyrics affect people?
-Like I really want my lyrics like a said to paint a picture, I don't really care about being to metaphorical, I feel as long as you get my point and my shit doesn't sound corny we good. As far as meaning I just love getting my point across on beats, like when I hear a beat and I like it, I write then and there so it's like a 10-15 minute average writing process.
What in hip hop frustrates you?
-Oh so many things, like how do these artist that turn themselves into humanoids with all that auto-tune keep making it. I hate how I got to make a catchy song just to get radio plays. People don't understand that you are listening to the same lyrical content between almost every artist on the radio. Let's cut out Drake, Kendrick, J. Cole, Ye, and whoever else is sort of a game changer. What do you have left? Some generic ass rappers, I mean I'm not going to lie if I'm going out that night and I hear all that turn up shit, most likely just to get in the mood I will vibe to it. If I'm at the crib though I'm not playing none of that foolishness.
Why do you think it is important to express yourself through music?
-BECAUSE I CANT HOLD IN ALL THESE THOUGHTS. Honestly like I think it's so hard to go one Twitter and express these thoughts in text with emotion. So I rather just make songs about stuff I hate and people that do things I hate. I mean it's funny, but I really don't like a lot of things in this world so I rather just talk about them on a track.
What can we expect with your next project?
-Most likely another story type of tape, an EP of some sort I'm working out ideas for it right now. Some dope feels to the music. Probably quite a bit of upbeat feel to it. Of course, me testing some of the fools out in the world.
Lastly what are some things that not many people know about you?
-Oh man well if we just met, most likely you'll be like cool he's seems chill, but I have a dark side to me only if you push me to that point. Low key, I talk a lot of shit, but I'm kind of slick with it haha. I don't care for Biggie nor Tupac real talk, but if I had to pick it would be Tupac he was real with his music. Last thing, I get on Twitter sometimes and speak out on my love for female cheeks, buns or whatever you want to call them. That's only from time to time though peep my game.
