ALL PURE MUSIC: June 2014

With all the new creative music coming out of Los Angeles it quickly becomes hard to keep track of it all. Luckily we have Piero Gazzani (TV Blonde) an upcoming producer who is proving through his independent label that the San Fernando Valley is also worth watching. Below you can read the story of his upbringing and how he plans to bring innovative music to his listeners.

Where are you currently located in Los Angeles?

Down here in SFV in Van Nuys living with Ma and Pa.

How did you start creating music?

Piero Gazzani

Well, It began when i was 12 and I picked up my first first guitar and ever since I loved music. I began recording and creating music when I was 15, its was nothing cool, just shitty rock loops and then I started a band with a friend of mine Steven Esquibil called Clean Comfort. He asked for some slow instrumental and I made one on Adobe Premiere Pro. It became more soothing and a better left instrumental. I began making more of those soothing instrumentals and made my first ep "Mommas Boy" I got more into the producing world and got way more better programs than a movie editing program. I starting producing... Alot.

My whole style changed ever since then and it still is I'm still learning everyday.

Who inspires Piero?

I actually don't know, I've always loved music and was always interested in how its made and at the time I was more of a fan of rock music than hip hop and instrumental or whatever, shit like distorted rock like wavves old shit and smith westerns old shit. I have no idea what inspired my first EP its weird i just played with my guitar and combined hip hop drums etc. Then I started listening to more producers and my whole style changed and I started to use less real instruments. With TV Blonde I'm using rarley or no real insturments, with TV I'm relying mainly on real instruments. But almost everything inspires me. music in general inspires me.

What is Dazzed Tapes?

Dazzed Tapes is a label me and a group of friends are trying to boot up. We want to represent San Fernando Valley and show that there is a lot of people here in the valley with a lot of talent

Where do you plan to take your music and the people's music of Dazzed Tapes?

Piero Gazzani

Out there man, we want everyone to hear how crazy great everyone is here, we want everyone to hear the music the people of the valley have, they deserve it!

Which genres do you like working with the most?

Piero Gazzani

Thats a good question, I like working with so many genres I have had like so many aliases that are all different. I love music

I really like to work on my TV music, TV Blonde is fun and exiting to make but with TV its so much more bigger, I dont know how to describe the genre but its fun, I record all the drums and percussion on the songs and I record all the guitars and stuff its a long process but the final product is great

Who would you love to collab with?

Piero Gazzani

Honestly Im not really a "collab" type guy or anything, I have horrible communication skills and i don't think I can work with anyone fluidly but i would love to work with Shlohmo I would love to stay up till 5 AM writing music, recording it, than creating a smooth hip hop influenced beat

When Piero isn't masturbating or making music what does he do in his spare time?

Piero Gazzani

I really don't know when I'm not making music but I'm usually writting scripts, I originally wanted to be a film maker before I started making music and I still want to be one but other than that I'm with my brothers watching movies and hanging out or with my friends going to shows.

If you were to have a show how would you keep the audience entertained?

Piero Gazzani

I would probably throw in a classic song in here and there but defiantly visuals, I've always loved visuals. Something cool to visually keep your audience entertained visually

I heard you're throwing your first show soon how do you feel about that?

Piero Gazzani

Im really pumped actually ive been practicing non-stop for about a month now I'm not even done but I'm really really excited!

In which ways do you plan on growing your audience?

Piero Gazzani

I actually don't know, just supply music, I don't really have a plan.

Would you say that your music is different from others? Will you work towards revolutionizing music?

Piero Gazzani

Of course, I'm learning every single day, my sounds constantly changing, I wanna be more complex musically, I'm heading towards thicker sounds.

Do you plan on living in Los Angeles your whole life?

Piero Gazzani

Yes! I feel Los Angeles is the place to be as a producer here I have so much opportunity and so much access to so many things.

So with that being said where do you plan on basing yourself and Dazzed Tapes as it grows?

Piero Gazzani

I think Hollywood would be a good area, theres a lot of access there.

How was it growing up in Van Nuys? Have you lived there your whole life?

I was born in Simi Valley but spent my childhood in Granada Hills 2 blocks from my current High School, when I turned 4 I moved here to Van Nuys and haven't moved since.

Do you have any funny stories about living in Van Nuys?

Piero Gazzani

One time I came home at 1 in the morning and this guy was on the roof of a random car because there was a chihuahua on the floor and he thought it was a bulldog. Probably some crackhead, anyways I had to scare the poor dog away
